Our Story

Chris and Paula Anckersen offer the experience of over four decades as Arabian horse industry professionals. Chris has had lifelong involvement with horses and was first exposed to Arabians as a teenager. Upon completion of school, Chris apprenticed and was Assistant Trainer for master horseman Stanley White, Sr. at Lancer Arabians and later at Stanley's Grandeur Arabians, for over 6 years.

Moving to the Atlanta area in 1985, Chris helped establish and later became the trainer and manager for Robert and Christine Fauls’ Chapel Farms Arabians, where he remained for 17 years. Paula, also a life long horse enthusiast and accomplished dressage rider, joined Chapel Farms Arabians in the early 2000’s managing the office and assisting with breeding and conditioning activities.

In 2006, The Anckersen built a beautiful horse training and breeding facility, Chattooga Ridge Arabians. Surrounded by the Sumter National Forest with the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains in northwestern South Carolina, the farm is located just 2 hours northeast of Atlanta, just outside the quaint and picturesque vacation town of Clayton, Georgia. The farm takes its name from the wild and scenic Chattooga River, an exciting whitewater adventure destination.

Chattooga Ridge Arabians offers professional equine services including halter training and showing at the national and international levels, marketing of world class breeding and show horses, breeding services of some of the world's finest stallions, and reproductive services including mare management and consultation services.

Limited to 15 training horses, the horses in the care of Chattooga Ridge Arabians are handled and cared for exclusively by Chris. The nutrition, healthcare, training and conditioning programs are customized for each individual horse, resulting in tremendous success in the Arabian show rings.

"I have been very fortunate to have been involved with spectacular Arabian stallions throughout my career" says Chris. "We have represented the Straight Egyptian Stallions Hadaya El Tareef, Abraxas Halimaar, and Imperial Imdal+, all who were Egyptian Event Supreme Champions and National and International Winners." Chris and Paula also managed United States National Champions *Dakar El Jamaal and Dakharo, and currently manage National Champions Marhaabah (*Marwan Al Shaqab x Shalina El Jamaal) and FSF Dakaros Enchanter (Dakharo x Enchantingly Shai) . "Additionally we are proud to have in our management the quality multi-champion stallions El Farid FWF (Anaza El Farid x Imperial Kabisah), ES Marhaalah (Marhaabah x Shahalah CAHR), Le Beau Monde (Marbeau Le Reve x Imdala El Jamaal), CCA Sterling Legend (DA Prodigy x Dakars Destinee), and FSF Marjestic (Marhaabah x Mizpah Evening Rose).

We have been proud to facilitate the sales of dozens of magnificent horses to breeders around the world, including the Reserve World Champion Mare Ladi Veronika, International Champion Marhnika, and U.S. National Champion and World Champion Dakharo, to name a few.

"We represent a large base of clients with progressive breeding programs who continuously produce exceptional quality offspring for markets around the globe. We are sincerely appreciative of our loyal and enthusiastic clients, some of whom we have enjoyed a relationship of over 25 years", says Chris. "We look forward to an exciting future surrounded by World Class Arabian Horses."
